With this years PPV only a matter of days away i'm going down the list and reviewing the past PPV. Each articles will be a different year, also to see what was good and what was bad.

TLC 2009
This ppv saw some big matches that had some rematches but also put one talent into the “top guy” category. Lets get to the undercard:

We kick things off with a wild ladder match that saw spots after spots with Christian retaining over Shelton Benjamin. At this time Christian dominated the ECW title picture so no surprise here. Also Christian was a good champion and brought whatever prestige you could to that title. Never thought the title brought anything to the table except give mid card guys something to fight over on a third brand.

WWE Championship Ladder Match: Sheamus beats John Cena ©
No doubt Cena will go down in history as one of the best of all time. At this point or more less that year, Sheamus came on to the ECW brand and had some squash matches. Sense he was well liked and a Triple H “hand picked” guy, he went on to the Raw brand. Skip to December and after a number of matches, Sheamus was a heel at this time and honestly on the top of his game. A young superstar that needed more heat than he was drawing in the ring. Beating Cena was the way to do it, he pushed Cena through the table and became champion at the age of 31. Prior he feuded with the Miz, Getting in the ring at anytime in a big match or title situation is a big  deal. Beating him puts you in the element of “top Guy” Yes these days he can be corny but without this feud he wasn’t a made man. This should have been the main event but at his time there was another program bigger than the WWE Title.

Chairs Match For The World Heavyweight Title: The Undertaker © Defeats Batista
Here comes the rematch of this column. When you think about this feud you really think about WrestleMania 23. A good but not classic match, now in this one they did what they could but a chair match gimmick was not the right call for this. I think like a lot of people we would have just preferred a normal match that saw the same results. The Undertaker would go on to lose the title at elimination chamber PPV to Chris Jericho. This was just a one off or a one month PPV that just needed the void to be filled.

Main Event Time: DX Defeats Jericho and Big Show © To Retain Tag Titles In TLC Title Match
It was what it was but to put the titles on DX for a short period of time was a wrong move by WWE at this time.  Granted you had the some of the greatest in ring workers of all time in Jericho and Michaels in there who did their spots. Big Show was really an after thought in this match, he really didn’t bring a lot to the table. As far as Triple H goes he was there to be there. A good match but nothing to stand out and go out of your way.

Final thoughts: I still think the WWE title should have been the main event in this PPV, especially since there was a title change and the momentum of Sheamus was so high.  but at this time it was a transition and was not champion for long.
